Tuesday 18 April 2023, Dolgellau AAFC 0 Bow Street 4 - Cae Marion, Ardal League, North East

Wednesday 19 April, Meifod 1 Tywyn Bryncrug 4 - Central Wales League, North, Kings Head

My usual work trip to North Wales at Easter, allowed me to visit two new grounds, Tuesday found me in Dolgellau, a picturesque ground, disappointingly not able to see the summit of Cadair Idris from the ground. Railed on all 4 sides, hard standing on two sides and a 100 seat stand. Club have their own refreshment trailer, selling hot drinks and hot dogs. Good size crowd and the programme was a bonus.

Football wise, Bow Street dominated throughout and the home side were fortunate to get away with just conceding 4 goals. 3 down at the break with Bow Street adding a forth goal within minutes of the second half starting.

Wednesday, it was an hour drive inland to see
Meifod v Tywyn Bryncrug.

Ground at the back of a pub - can't be bad! A couple of holiday lodges, a car park, and portacabins for changing rooms also behind the pub- plus the star of the show - the small seated stand built on the back of a flat bed lorry, with corrugated iron roof and the dug outs just in front of it.

Form and table wise expected the home side to dominate and when they got on the ball and played it wide they looked the better team, however it is goals that count in this game and it was the visitors who took an early lead on 6 minutes, and added a second on 37 minutes.

Second half the home side still had plenty of the ball but their finishing and the final ball did not help and it was the visitors who added further goals in the 76th and 83rd minute before the home side got a consolation in the last minute.
