A sad day

Tuesday 23 October 2012, Ipswich Town 1 Derby County 2, Championship - Portman Road

Manager still here, the Chairman on holiday, the Chief Executive does not know what he is doing - fans turning on the club, players turning on the fans on twitter.

A very sad day for a once proud club.

This weekend I will miss a home game, away in Spain - and for once I am glad I will not be at Portman Road

Sunday 21 October 2012

Still here

Sunday 21st October 2012, Ipswich Town Under 21's 1 QPR U21's 0 - Playford Rd Training Ground

Good news - The tea bar was open (and a hot dog)

Strange news - Duke Ellington scores

Bad news - Jewell watched the first half so still our manaher!

14 goals - yes 14!

Saturday 20th October 2012, Debenham LC FC 14 Cornard United 0, Thurlow Nunn Division One, Maitlands

I reember being on the end of a seven nil drubbing at Chelsea in the FA Cup - that was bad enough but imagine how Cornard United fans feel tonight, they lost 14-0 and Debenham had at least 4 other goals disallowed.

I did say Cornard fans msy feel sick, but i don;t think any went to the game and they could not even fill the bench.

Are we coming to the end of the Cornard one man show - he has been at the club 18 years but can Chris Symes keep the club afloat?

Extra time and rain

Tuesday 17 October 2012, Walsham-Le-Willows FC 0 Hadleigh United 2 (aet) Fa Vase Round 1, Replay - Summer Road

Nil nil after 90 minutes, torrential rain and I could have been in Warsaw, thought it was going to be an even longer night as I could see it going to penaltys but Hadleigh get two goals in extra time and go through.

Good sized crowd for a mid week game.

Ten v Ten

Saturday 13 October 2012, Wivenhoe Town 3 Woodbridge Town 0, Thurlow Nunn Premier Division - Broad Lane

No justice in football - Woodbridge played some lovely neat football, with most of the play coming through Tom Trevivian (son of former ITFC coach - Peter) and Wivenhoe were lucky to be in the game at half time with Woodbridge also missing an early penalty. Only the Wivenhoe keeper, Richie Robins and their captain Tom Cutts stopping the Suffolk side from taking a deserved half time lead.

The second half still saw Woodbridge have most of the ball and play the best football but somehow Wivenhoe scored two quick goals then both teams ended up with 10 players after a short skirmish then Wivenhoe got a third goal.

Strange game football!

Turnstile Blues

Saturday 6 October 2012, Ipswich Town 1 Cardiff City 2, Championship - Portman Road

Jewell and Clegg you are killing my club - but one good thing about your poor running of this once great club - the return of the fanzine - Issue One of 'Turnstile Blues'
