Cup is still magic.

Friday 9 August 2019, Woodford Town 1 White Ensign 1 - FA Cup Extra Preliminary Round, Harlow Arena

Woodford Ultras

Only a few weeks into the season and I may have seen one of the best games of the season - and a great advert for non-league football. White ensign even hit the woodwork 4 times!

Brilliant game, played in the right spirit and a decent crowd - you just have to love the FA Cup.

Rain in the village

Saturday 6 October 2018, White Ensign 4 Hackney Wick 2 - Basildon Sporting Village, Eastern Counties League, Division one (South)

If it was just about football both these teams would have a bright future - poor weather conditions but both teams were determined to play football and gave the (small) crowd a good afternoons entertainment.

However, how long can White ensign last away from their Southend home playing football inside an athletics tracks? Whilst Hackney have few fans they are running a the club for the right reasons, to help their community but will they survive when there are so many other clubs at the same level playing in East London, all struggling for crowds.

But after watch a great game between the two today I hope they do survive and for Ensign they may get to play back at home in Southend and for Hackney to continue the good work they are already doing.
