Have to admit it, this stadium is the best

Wednesday 22 January 2020, Tottenham Hotspur 2 Norwich City 1 - Premier League, Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

The stadium is superb - sight lines, food, toilets, room to move, speed getting out- it is made for supporters. But when it comes to what is on the pitch, then Tottenham have big problems, no matter how good the stadium is, It will be no use to them if the team continues to go downhill.

Rak - Su - Kings Langley, lucky omen

Saturday 18 January 2020, Kings Langley 3 Bromsgrove Sporting 1 - Orbital Fasteners Stadium, Southern League, Premier, Central

Not a score I was expecting when I arrived, Bromsgrove top of the table and the home team just below the middle of the table.

Liked the ground, higgledy -  piggledy stands but a nice feel to it, very friendly club only downside is the clubhouse is very small., not helped by quite a large away following.

Bromsgrove started on top and it was a shock when the home side opened the scoring, Bromsgrove kept pressing and got back on terms on 29 minutes. At this stage, I thought we may end up with about 9 a side as the Ref was being surrounded by both teams every tiem a tackle was made. After getting back on terms, Bromsgrove seemed to sit back and the home side ended the half on top.

Half time was spent avoiding the crowds trying to get a selfie with a certain Kings Langley fan - Myles from Rak-Su ( Celebrity Jungle), he obviously is a good luck omen for the home team as they were much better in the second half and regained the lead on 51 minutes and then on 74 minutes a third as Crawford completed his hat trick.

Home side saw the last 15 minutes out easily for a good win.

Not as far as you think - but still takes hours!!

Wednesday 15 January 2020, Langford 1 Hillingdon Borough 0 - Spartan South Midlands League, Division One, Forde Park

Not a great trip, almost 2 hours for just over 80 miles - but hey that is traffic, so I will know it be quicker on way home - wrong! A14 roadworks continue, so yet again another diversion through Cambridge.

But what about Langford, basic rural set up, but good clubhouse and a friendly club - football wise, both teams struggled to put a pass together but the home side always posed more of a threat up front.

Saturday 11 January 2010, Ipswich Town 4 Accrington Stanley 1 - League One, Portman Road

Jersey Bulls help enable a double game daty

Saturday 4 January 2020 - Cove 0 Jersey Bulls 1 - Combined Counties, Division One, Squirrel Lane then Hartley Wintney 2 Wimborne Town 2 - Southern League, Premier South, Memorial Fields

Expect we may have a further season and half of large crowds for Jersey away games as hoppers take the opportunity to get two games in a day - With clubs arranging lunchtime kick offs, so Jersey can get to and back the same day, think next big opportunity will be game v Fleet Spurs as many options for second game in area.

Programmes sold out over an hour before the game so hope other clubs print more in future, however Cove ran the day well with good stewarding of the car park and pleased they would have made some good money on the day. Jersey dominated but over elaborating meant just one goal - think as season goes on the pressure to not lose a game will become a bag factor in their displays.

Then it was 15 minute drive to Hartley Wintney

Wimborne played on the break and with the aid of the noticeable slope went in at the break two up, almost made a mess of the first one by missing an open goal in the build up, second was a penalty after the keeper took out the centre forward, keeper always under pressure at Hartley played such a high back line.

Second half and now playing with the slope, Hartley got back on terms, but were still getting caught on the break and Wimborne will feel they dropped two pints.

Ground very neat, plenty of space and greenery, clubhouse slightly raised so good view from the cover outside the clubhouse the seated stands on other side was also well occupied with one terrace behind one of the goals also having cover.
