Thursday 6 April 2023, AFC Sudbury Under 18s 5 Ipswich Town Under 16s 0 - Suffolk FA, Under 18 Mid-week Cup, semi-final, Millfield, Hadleigh United.
Sudbury are the only ever winners of this cup and the game today was a repeat of the final last year. Ipswich enter their Under 16 team in this competition - and this game may not have been 'men against boys' but it was certainly 'large boys against little boys!'
Sudbury took the lead on 16 minutes, hit the post twice and added a second goal in the last minute of the half. Three further goals in the second half for a very one sided game.
Be interesting to see how many of this Ipswich team become full time professionals, and how many of the Sudbury team make their first team.
