Great Lines, hidden gem
Friday 24 September 2021, Royal Engineers AFC 2 Royal Signals FC 1- Massey Trophy, Great Lines
Friday morning football and the hidden gem of 'Great Lines' - the home of Royal engineers sport. Above Chatham, a cricket ground a Naval monument and then a tree lined football ground - I certainly hope to go back.
Not where I planned!
Wednesday 22 September 2021, Thame United Reserves 3 Amersham Town 2 - Spartan South Midlands League, Division 1, ASM Stadium
Wednesday evening off, only new ground is west side of London, but i go for it, jams on M25, but cut through London arrive to watch Kensington and Ealing Borough with 45 minutes to spare! trouble is lights off, game off - British airways, the opponents hit by Covid!
Check the app, and making it into Oxfordshire and Thame United with 2 minutes to spare.
It may look like a Reserve team, but the United reserves were a separate club till the Summer, Thame Rangers but then all the Thame clubs joined together, great sporting complex, numerous pitches, nice bar and at least the main pitch is grass! Trouble is the stand is till to far from the pitch, so not where i expected to end up, but a nice ground and a cracking game with some good goals.

Could not buy a win!
Tuesday 14 September 2021, Ipswich Town 1 West Ham United Under 21s 2 - Portman Road, Papa John's Trophy
Some old (pre Cook players), some new, some youngsters - mix them all together and still can't beat a team of kids from West Ham!

Not needed in Football
Saturday 4 September 2021, FC Parson Drove 0 Huntingdon Town 3 - Eastern Counties League, Division One, North , Main Road
Red card after a few minutes, almost a second red card a few minutes later, FC Parson Drove seem to be struggling to make the move up to Step 6 football work.
But maybe the poor discipline on the pitch may have something to do with their manager, who also got a yellow card, but taht did not stop him spending the whole first half abusing, the Ref, the Lino and anyone else within earshot - not a a great advert for what looked like other than him, a well run club.
