Saturday 28 September 2019, Ipswich Town 4 Tranmere Rovers 1 - League 1, Portman Road
Still undefeated in the league, and top of the table.
Welcome to my blog that concentrates on my love of sports grounds, from the new stadia like the Millennium to the quant non league grounds of rural Engalnd. Thank you Arcibald Leitch!

The Yeltz - great nickname
Tuesday 24 September 2019, Bedworth United 1 Halesowen Town 2 - The Oval, Southern League, Central, Division One
Great grandstand, poor floodlights, food with strange names and opponents with a top nickname plus 'old school goalkeeper replacement' with an outfield player having to go between the sticks.

Can't buy a point, let alone a win
Monday 23 September 2019, Ipswich Town Under 23s 1 Charlton Athletic Under 23s 3 - Professional Development League, Portman Road
Will we ever win or just get a point? At least we scored this time and for a while were in front!

Short cup run
Tuesday 17 September 2019, Needham Market 3 Ipswich Town Under 23s 0 - Suffolk FA Premier Cup, 1st round, Bloomfields
Cracking first half with Needham shading it and going in one ahead but in the second half it became scrappy and Ipswich tired so in the end an easy win for the Marketmen.

Had to get a 0-0 in the end
Saturday 14 September 2019, Ipswich Town 0 Doncaster Rovers 0 - League One, Portman Road
My first 0-0 for two season but how it was nil nil, I will never know- Donny hit the post and had numerous chances whilst Norwood and two one on one - impressed by Donny.

And we had a full moon and church bells
Friday 13 September 2019, Somersham Town 4 Milton 0 - Cambridgeshire League, Section 'A', West End
Maybe down to Step 8 but you can still find some cracking grounds, as an ex ECL League Club, did expect it would be decent but actually it was better than that and I loved the two wooden stands plus the old clubhouse with numerous team photos from the past. Plus we had a full (low) moon and the first half was accompanied by the sound of church bells.
On top of that it was decent game of football.

Heaven Eleven
Wednesday 11 September 2019, Coplestonians Under 18s 0 Ipswich Town Under 18s 11 - Suffolk FA Midweek cup, Notcutt's Park
We fielded a strong team, so an easy win but Cops never gave up - a good evenings entertainment.

This year we can't buy a win ( Reserves)
Monday 9 September 2019, Ipswich Town Under 23s 1 Nottingham Forest Under 23s 3 - Portman Road, Professional Development League
Last year the Reserves kept winning but the First team could not buy a win - we months on and it is the other way round, not that anyone is complaining!

We won an East Anglian derby match!
Wednesday 4 September 2019, Ipswich Town Women 4 Norwich City Women 1 - Division One, South East, Dellwood Avenue
We won a derby match!! OK, it was just the woman's team - but they did it with style, class and in front of a fantastic crowd.
