Oh we do like to be beside the seaside!
Saturday 22 March 2014, Brighton and Hove Albion 0 Ipswich Town 2, Amex Stadium
What an afternoon of football, not much expected but a great two nil away win, and great effort from all the team (and fans) - all part of a great weekend in Brighton.

The rain returns - but does not stop play
Thursday 20 March 2014, Brentwood Town 2 Ware FC 1, Ryamn League, North - The Arena, Brentwood
Rain returned but did not stop both teams playing good football - both sides needed the points as both near the bottom of the table but I did not notice much difference in skill from sides near top of the league that I had watched only a few weeks ago.

Petty fouls
Saturday 15 March 2014, Ipswich Town 1 Wigan Athletic 3, Championship - Portman Road
Have had a soft spot for Wigan, pass the ball, small team against the big boys and two wins over Man City in the cup but today I saw another side to their team.
Still pass the ball and play fast counter attacking football but also constantly foul, small cynical fouls, time waste, dive - if that's what the Premier League gets you, do we need it?

Trott on fire
Friday 14 March 2014, Revolution Series 5 - Olympic Veledrome, Lee Valley
I have become a big cycling fan after always having a fascination with the sport from when Channel 4 first showed the Tour De France. Since then have seen big road races come to Suffolk and even saw the last stage of the Giro in Italy last year but have never managed to see track racing. I failed to get tickets to the Olympic track events and aslo was unlucky in the ballot for ticket for Glasgow later in the year so when I heard about the Revolution Series coming to the Olympic Velodrome I quickly got tickets.
And what a location, what a velodrome and Laura Trott made sure it was great night of racing - Olympic legacy is much talked about but it is alive and kicking here, iconic and inspiring arena and the number of young GB racers involved was another example of how the likes of Hoy, Wiggo, Cav and Trotty have and are still inspiring others to follow in their cycle tracks.

A long way for 3 points - but their fans were so friendly!
Tuesday 11 March 2014, Yeovil Town 0 Ipswich Town 1, Championship - Huish Park
A long way, small ground but the people were so friendly - lets hope they stay up and we play them on a Saturday next season.

March Town United - The last stand!
Saturday 8 March 2014, March Town United 0 Stowmarket Town 7, Eastern Counties Division One, GER Sports Ground
I had to visit March as the famous old grandstand will not see another season of football. The club are not doing well and need to improve the facilities at the ground and though the stand is memorable it is not best suited for watching a game.
The cost of removing the stand and legal wrangles have seen the better players leave March, and they were unrecognisable from the team I saw play so well at Halstead at the start of the season.
It is a pity that the club were still not linked with the Great Eastern Railways - and with the thriving GER Social Club next door. Only a few weeks left to sit in this famous stand, take the opportunity if you can.
