Saturday 29th September 2012, Barnsley 1 Ipswich Town 1, Oakwell - Championship.
I love visiting Barnsley, good friendly feel to both the town and the ground. A short walk up a hill from the town centre then when you get to the top you look down and see the back of the old stand.
Should have been beaten, good first half but under the cosh in the second- so a point was not a bad return.
Finished the day by spending the night in the town - an experience not to be forgotten.
Welcome to my blog that concentrates on my love of sports grounds, from the new stadia like the Millennium to the quant non league grounds of rural Engalnd. Thank you Arcibald Leitch!

Wednesday 19 September 2012, Ipswich Town 0 Wolverhampton Wanderers 2, Championship - Portman Rd
How much longer do we have to put up with this rubbish? PJ must know the end is getting closer

Hadleigh - playing the game the right way
Saturday 15th September 2012 - Stanway Rovers 1 Hadleigh United 4, FA Vase 2nd Qualifying Round - Hawthorns
A hot day, hard pitch and a cup game- Stanway had started theseason well but were put to the sword by a Hadleigh team that played with passion and pace.
Within minutes of the first goal, Stanway were arguing with themselves- a team with a number of senior players a few ex pro's but Hadleigh a younger team showed the way non league football should be played.
The ground- basic but a nice feel to it, two stands that no one uses- wrong side of the ground and the sun in your eyes, a hard pitch with a slight slope- but easy to get to from the A12 and worth a visit.

Bilel Mohsni - changed man?
Friday 7th September 2012, Ipswich Town Reserves 6 Cardiff City 0, Playford Road Training Ground.
Bilel Mohsni the Southend Player was playing for the Town - and looked good and scored but can this be the same player who wanted to fight every Ipswich player in the Pre-Season friendly at Roots Hall last year?

New player looks good and great penalty save but?
Saturday 1 September 2012, Ipswich Town 2 Huddersfield Town 2, Championship - Portman Road
New lad looked good, and Scott Loach produced a fantastic penalty save - But Mr Jewell - we need a centre half? No need for Boyd or any more midfielders!
