Tuesday 20 August 2013, Newmarket Town 4 Mildenhall Town 4, Thurlow Nunn, Eastern Counties League - Cricket Field Rd
Fourth game in four days and by far the best, not just because of 8 goals, but plenty of skill, end to end stuff, penalty and an equaliser with the last touch of the game.
Big crowd for a local derby, won £4 in the raffle and loved the turnstile/entrance.
Great metal initials above the old turnstile - was the stile recused from the racecourse?
Welcome to my blog that concentrates on my love of sports grounds, from the new stadia like the Millennium to the quant non league grounds of rural Engalnd. Thank you Arcibald Leitch!

Team from eBay?
Tuesday 13 August 2013, Mildenhall Town 1 Godmanchester Rovers 3, Thurlow Nunn Premier League, Recreation Way
Warm sunny evening and two teams playing attacking football and what a nicknane for the Godmanchester Number 9 - 'eBay' then again his real name is Mark Ebeyer!

Thank you twitter
Saturday 27 July 2013, Ely City 2 Saffron Walden Town 1, Pre-season friendly, Unwin Ground
Two senior Suffolk grounds to visit and today I thought I would tick one off and visit Mildenhall but lucky for me, I checked twitter just before I set off and found the opponents could not get a team and that match was called off late in the day.
Quick check of the web and found that just over the border in Cambridgeshire that Ely City were playing a home friendly. So I got a game in, a new ground and what a view- the Cathedral can been seen in the distance making it seem more like a setting for cricket, the weather also was more suited for cricket!
